Fashion Flashback: A moment with…Fashion Designer Faren Tami

Back in 2009, few months after winning her TFI New Labels Fashion Design Competition title, Fashion Designer Faren Tami graciously accepted to spend some time with me (+ a Cameraman) in her Toronto based home studio, where she answered few questions about the TFI New Labels title, her brand and future projects.

And although Fashion is all about looking forward, I went backward this time, revisiting my archives for candid moments, especially because this video almost never happened, an intricate story of Will, Persistence, Patience and Dedication.

Faren would know what I am referring to here. Check out my Exclusive video with Faren after the jump.

We spent a good hour together that day; she showed me pieces from her Fall/Winter 2009 collection and I even got to try on a few. I was especially fond of a winter coat (grey with black accents – seen on picture), still relevant for Fall/Winter 2010, despite being labelled FW/2009!

Many things have happened since my chat with Faren, she has now launched her SS/10 Collection, accessible on her website http://www.faren.ca/ and the TFI New Labels has now crowned a new queen, as Montreal based Designer Anastasia Lomonova.

But let’s not spoil the moment, as you are about to watch the video below, which I hope you will enjoy just as much as we did.

A special Thank you to Marc-Andre Miron and Nana Sam for devoting their time and patience – I am not always easy to work with – in the filming and editing department.
