Karolin Iron, your brand new Toronto Editor, checking in.
At the tender age of 18, I decided to attend Toronto Fashion Week. It was my first fashion week in Toronto EVER.
I thought I would just be looking at clothes and the pretty people wearing them. That’s not what happened. It was intense. The models were radiating with magnetism and the crowd savoured every last drop.
Each model strutted in something big, bold, and (what I thought at the time) ridiculous.
Insiders were staring intently and nodding. Hypnotic beats pumped from the speakers and into my ears. I felt entranced. I was Alice in Wonderland, whimsically stumbling into, and getting sucked into a world I didn’t understand. Little did I know, I’d soon be having tea with the Mad Hatter.
Then, it began. I started noticing costume design on my favourite shows. Mad Men’s seamless revival of bold 60’s cuts and colours made me hyperventilate into a bag. My interest in fashion evolved like a tumbling line of dominoes. I began experimenting with colours and styles that previously made me uncomfortable.
I realized I was a scarf girl when I began a love affair with Missoni’s hypnotic fabrics. We’re still going strong.

Fast forward four short years, I’ve suffered DIY disasters, a hoodie detox, and an internet shopping addiction. Today, my style is dramatically subtle. Which like me, is a paradox. My Tom Ford cat eye glasses are my signature accessory. You will most likely find me wearing a scarf, even in the middle of July. Oh, and I love blazers.
When I’m not scouring the fashion scene, I can be found engaging in gluttony indulging in Toronto’s finest. And you’re in luck, because I’ll be sharing my favourite upscale and hole-in-the-wall haunts.

My contributions at miss SLY! will focus on satiating your every whim for the finest Toronto has to offer. After all, us Good Girls Gone SLY have to stick together.
Grab your coat, darling, we’re going to paint the town red! Vite, vite!
