Morning Inspiration | Carine Roitfeld “Think Different”

While catching up on my morning dose of Fashion news today, I found the perfect notes to kick off the day via Carine Roitfeld‘s WWD interview, in which she opens up about her latest and most talked about project.

After months of speculations and rumors, “CR” has finally been announced, and from its title to the choice of calligraphy, Carine Roitfeld’s biannual magazine promises to embody its visionary’s DNA: provocative, inspiring and full of surprises.

“I find that some people in fashion are so blase. Fashion has to be fun.” – CR.

Roitfeld is a free spirit, an unconventional thinker who dares to be different, and this is precisely what I admire about her. There is little to no doubt, that her magazine will give us plenty to rave about, a potential keeper.

Each issue will be constructed around a theme, such as music, or “obsession,” which is the case for the mock-up.

Fashion Magazines big or small, have (sadly) come to resemble each other so much lately – from their covers style to the choice of content, that the excitement once felt at the magazines stands isn’t quite there anymore.

So it is refreshing to see a Fashion pioneer like Roitfeld taking a different route with her magazine project, because clearly, the world doesn’t need another Vogue, no matter how well constructed, and she knows it.

“You can’t put yourself into competition with a magazine like Vogue; you have to create something new, something different.” – CR

This is a strong statement which I hope Roitfeld will back up with captivating content and substance, and I cannot wait to get my hands on CR Fashion Book Issue – 0 - slated for September, which will also have an online component.

“The page has been turned, it’s time to find something new, something fresh — for me and for the readers.” – CR
